Squad Rowing - Competing at Races

Worthing Rowing Club offers a competitive environment for rowers looking to push their limits and achieve success in coastal rowing. With a strong focus on performance, we provide structured training, expert coaching, and opportunities to compete at local and regional regattas. Our primary goal is the South Coast Championships 2025, taking place on September 5–6 in Plymouth.

With A and B boats available depending on race entries, we ensure that all competitive rowers have the chance to challenge themselves and excel.

Training Commitment:

  • Winter Training: Up to four nights of land training per week,  plus weekend water sessions.

  • Summer Training: Continued land training and weekend water sessions, with more opportunities for water sessions during the week.

  • Training Types: Circuits, core and stretching sessions, ergometer training, and structured water sessions.

Our training is designed to fit around work and life commitments, ensuring that all members can train effectively while maintaining a balanced lifestyle.

"We cater not only for the casual Rower but also for those who want to compete with the best of the best. We offer  the choice of a regular or intensive training programme which both include a variety of training sessions (from UT2 to AT Ergs), Erg tests and coached  water sessions. All of this is to get us ready for the CARA racing season culminating in a strong South Coast Champs performance. Alongside all of this we will also be partaking in other events such has British Rowing Beach Sprints and river races such as WeHORR."
